Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 24 April 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA117277; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), A Company at grid ZA180354; B Company at ZA175345; C Company at ZA189349; D Company at ZA195355; Recon platoon at grid ZA188355; 4.2 mortar platoon at LZ Oasis; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

At 1723 hours on 24 Apr 69 C co 51 element which swept the area of reported shots has closed back in and reported they crossed the river and after doing so heard 4 more shots. They said the shots were coming from the middle of the plantation as either 45 caliber or carbine shots.

0845 hours (C) To all elements: 1. 1/35th is alerted for a possible move to Ban Me Thout area, to reinforce 2/35th and ARVN rangers. Indications are that elements of 2 enemy regiments are in the area west of Buan Blek. S. CA scheduled for today is postponed at least until this afternoon, possibly cancelled. 3. Elements should be in an extractable position and curtail movement. 4. Resupply as needed will be effected as soon as possible. 5. Limited movements can be anticipated. 6. More information will follow. The following refers to B Co and CO: 1. Your proposed night location for 24 Apr is still approved - move when your are ready. Message to B Co needs an acknowledgement by all CO's personally.

1530 hours (C) C Co reports they heard a couple of shots 215 degrees azimuth 400 meters and they sounded like AK fire. S-3 is sending 1 platoon size element across the river to investigate.
