Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 25 April 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA117277; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), A Company at ZA160340; B Company CP at ZA158354; C Company CP at ZA178354; D Company CP at ZA195355; Recon CP at ZA189354; 4.2 mortar platoon at LZ Oasis; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

No significant activities occurred in the area of operations during this time.

0930 hours (C) To C Co from S-3: 1. You will remain in the same area pending a combat assault on 26 Apr 69 to LZ previously discussed. 2. Establish 4 squad size ambushes along Ia Puch River tonight at likely crossing sites. 3. Send proposed ambush sites to me for approval. (C Co CO). 4. Occupy ambush positions just prior to darkness. We need an acknowledgement from C Co and CO.

0940 hours (C) To Recon CO: 1. You will remain in the same general area pending a combat assault to LZ Kay tomorrow. 2. Out post major trails in the area. Coordinate with C Co in reference to night locations. Further information will follow when available.

1000 hours (C) To D Company CO: 1. Search and clear to northwest and at least 3 clicks. 2. Establish a night location in the general area of ZA155380. 3. Establish 3 or 4 squad size ambushes. Employ ambushes after 1900 hours. 4. We are not on alert for Ban Me Thout area any more. We need an acknowledgement from D Co CO.

1020 hours (C) To A Company CO: 1. Village of Catecka I will cordoned in the next few days. 2. Search and clear to the west covering as wide an area as possible. Establish a night location in general vicinity ZA153341 and establish 3 squad size ambushes in that general area, at a minimum of 1 kilometer from CP and a minimum of 500 meters apart. Occupy position after 1900 hours and inform me if and when you enter the cultivated area. Do not destroy or damage tea plants or plantation facilities. 3. Northern boundary will be the east-west road running north of Catecka I village. This road is the responsibility of B Co and needs an acknowledgement from A Co CO.

1030 hours (C) To B Company CO: 1. The village of Catecka I will not be cordoned in the next few days. 2. Search and clear to the west covering as wide and as thoroughly as possible. Pay particular attention to streambeds. 3. Establish 3 or 4 squad size ambushes in the area. Employ ambushes after 1900 hours. If you enter the cultivated area let me know. Do not damage tea plants or plantation facilities. 4. Southern boundary is east-west road and this road is your responsibility. We need an acknowledgement from B Co CO.

1215 hours (C) From Recon: Our dog handler has been bit by his own dog and would like another dog team sent out and would like to send in old team as soon as possible.

2355 hours (C) From S-2 to B, D Co: Agent report (C-3) from II Corps has possible NVA/VC Bn at vicinity ZA113390. Acknowledgement needed.
