Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 30 June 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Ruth ZA168528; Battalion Headquarters Support (S-4 Forward); A Company at ZA103546; B Company at ZA144538; C Company at ZA982285; D Company at ZA168528; Recon CP at ZA135569; 4.2" mortar platoon located at LZ Ruth ZA168285; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

1220 hours (C) B Co to TOC: 33(-) at ZA153539 found 1 old cave, last used approximately 4 months, size 2' x 4' x 4' deep at water level, partly flooded.

1400 hours (C) A Co to TOC: Firing on yesterday's bunker complex with 81mm mortar.

1615 hours (C) TOC to Bde: Request 5 birds for CA and 2 guns from 54th group Camp Smith to LZ at ZA096494 for B, C Co 2/35th on an air to ground push. Approximately 200 people.

1620 hours (C) B Co to TOC: OP at grid ZA145522 heard AK fire about 300 meters to the west but not at the OP. OP opened fire in that direction and returned to 33(-) location.

1826 hours (U) DELAYED ENTRY - On 30 June 69 at 1800H from A Co to TOC reported readout from 97 sweep: AT ZA105542 they found a trench line 5 feet deep, 8 feet wide, 150 meters long, punji stakes in the trench, 6 months old, no bunkers and it was believed to be an approach to a bunker complex found yesterday.

2334 hours (C) To Bde from 1/35th: 1. A Co moves southeast from Plei Ya Gran (3) to ZA124529 Plei Yang (1) to cordon and search village. 2. B Co 1/35th moves out or rocket box and consolidate and receive resupply. Move after dark west to cordon and search Plei Bol O Duang (3) ZA113515. 3. D Co 1/35th continues Fire Base construction, defense preparations, bunkers, wire, etc. 2nd platoon D Co 1/35th places bar in AO southeast RR vicinity coordinate ZA170506 and ZA169494. 4. Recon 1/35th moves west out of rocket box to establish 2 OP's vicinity LZ Lilly, grid ZA115560 and ZA120559. %. Taskforce 2/35th assume responsibility for Rocket box as following C Taskforce 2/35 establishing platoon patrol bases vicinity ZA139552, ZA141539, ZA163550. Patrol bases to OP's are within Pleiku's AO's with continued squad size day and night patrols. B Taskforce 2/35th to establish SPR screen southwest portion of rocket base with #1 as follows: (1) 138522, (2) 149521, (3) 140511, (4) 153513, (5) 145505, (6) 137501, and (7) 144495.
