Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 26 June 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA117277; Battalion Headquarters Support (S-4 Forward), at LZ Kathy Battalion Headquarters (Jump CP); A Company at ZA132500; B Company at ZA045469; C Company at ZA982285; D Company at ZA078485; Recon platoon is located at ZA160576; 4.2" mortar platoon located at LZ Kathy ZA048485; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

0840 hours: From D Co to TOC: Our 57 element at 088496 found 1 Communist light weight Machine Gun 7.62 and 1 Sub Machine Gun and a tape recorder in a hooch just big enough for the equipment. 7.62 Machine Gun is operational, it was rusty on the outside but well greased on inside. Sub Machine Gun was all rusty and had a bullet hole in it.

0840 hours: From A Co to TOC: Line #100 and 103 saw dog handler mistreating his dog.

0942 hours: From B Co to TOC: At grid 041470 we found a natural waterfall 40 feet high, under the fall found 2 caves and there were green leaves for sleeping positions. There were vines made into seats, estimate to sleep 6 to a cave, approximately 1 week old.

1008 hours: A Company while moving from Plei Blo O Dung (2) apprehended 1 VMC. Individual was questioned and stated that there are 2 VC in Plei O Dung (3) vicinity ZA114515, 1 has a carbine and the other has an M16. Individual was evacuated to the Oasis and classified as a POW, further evac to 1 PW.

1200 hours: A Company cordoned Plei O Dung (3) and detained 1 individual on the Le Trung black list which stated that he lives in Plei Monu II. Individuals name is THUE and he is VMC Political Cadre, evac to Le Trung.

1900 hours: (C) 1/35th Plans Summary: A Co - Cordon village of Plei Pang 2 at 102509 in the morning - mid morning they will be CA'd to village of Plei Ye Gran 2 at 079538 and will cordon village. B Co is to continue to search and clear to the north. C Co - Pacification. D Co is to continue to search and clear to north. Recon is to be setting up blocking ambushes for cordon of A Co at 096538 and 095544.

2240 hours: Bde reports usual reliable intelligence: Possibility of attacks by fire against Duc Co, Oasis, Thanh An and Rock Quarry in the next 48 hours. Commanders will take all necessary measures to insure adequacy of defense.
