Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 21 May 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA117277; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), 1/35th Command Post is at LZ Oasis ZA117277; A Company at YA982285; B Company at ZA139265; C Company at ZA055227; D Company at ZA021239; Recon platoon is OPCON to the 1/10 Cav located at ZA102245; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

At 0405 hours on 21 May 69 bunker 5 at LZ Oasis reported 8 to 10 rounds AK-47 fired towards the perimeter 100 meters right of the flex pad. At 0747 hours on 21 May 69 the 1st squad of 3d platoon C Company 100 meters northwest of grid ZA060257 received sniper fire while returning to the 3d platoon night location. One man was slightly injured in the arm #91 May roster. At 0816 hours 21 May 69 C Company received fire from M-16's from a Montagnard resulting in 3 men shot, one in the leg and one ion the shoulder, one in the arm.

0207 hours (C) To all units from S-2: Usually intelligence shows that attacks by fire are likely throughout Pleiku and Kontum province within the next 48 hours.

0810 hours (C) C Co to TOC: EM who was shot was 3rd in the column and the sniper opened up. Sweep of the area - negative findings and enemy fled west.

0816 hours (C) C Co have 3 EM shot in leg, shoulder, arm.

0845 hours (C) 1/35th TOC to Bde: In reference to C Co's contact earlier they employed small arms fire, sniper fled to the west and they had 3 friendly casualties.

0850 hours (C) C Co to TOC: A total of 3 casualties by M-16 and a Montagnard fired the M-16. The Co is currently sweeping the area and conducting an investigation, will report as they receive reports.

1305 hours (C) C Co to TOC: First PZ at 1305 hours, first LZ at 1315 hours cold, last PZ at 1351 hours, last LZ at 1358 hours.

2359 hours (U) DELAYED ENTRY - On 21 May 69 C Co reported to TOC at 2350 hours. The 70K element spotted 9 to 10 individuals moving from south to the west.
