Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 18 May 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA117277; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), 1/35th Command Post is at LZ Oasis ZA117277; A Company at YA982285; B Company at ZA153282; C Company at ZA076239; D Company at ZA028242; Recon platoon at ZA102245; 4.2 mortar platoon YA982285; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

At 1900 hours on 18 May 69 3 rounds impacted and were estimated to be 75mm Recoilless Rifle rounds which landed 500 meters in front of bunker 5 at LZ Oasis. At 2045 hours on 18 May 69 LRPs were employed at center mass of YA9819 and they will be coordinate with Battalion S3 to complete the above on 19 May 69.

0946 hours (U) DELAYED ENTRY - ON 18 May 69 at 0930 hours D Co found at ZA020238 a bunker complex of about 30 bunkers (sleeping bunkers). They could hold 5 to 6 individuals, 3 to 4 had overhead cover about 8 feet into the ground. Top was made of logs; dirt about 3 months old and the scout dog could no pick up any scent. Bunkers were not recently used and the Co had negative findings in them.

1850 hours (C) From base defense: Bunker 5 reported rounds landed approximately 500 meters in front of their position. They saw 3 rounds impact and were estimated to be 75mm RR rounds.

1900 hours (C) LZ Oasis is receiving incoming.

1900 hours (C) Recon has an azimuth of 280 degrees.

1900 hours (C) D Co has an azimuth of 35 degrees about 400 to 500 meters from the 80 element - Rockets 122's.

1901 hours (C) Recon at ZA080235 - Recoilless rifle or B-40 at grid ZA066248 - 2 mortar tubes.

1902 hours (C) D Co 3 rockets from ZA032261.

1903 hours (C) A Co at azimuth 110 degrees - 4 or 5 kilometers - Rockets.

1909 hours (C) Recon to TOC: Recon 80B hears 2 tubes at 285 degrees azimuth about 1.5 clicks and approximately ZA066248.

2047 hours (C) Bde to Bn S2: Weather from 181700 to 190700 hours is partly cloudy to cloudy, ceiling 1500 feet, visibility poor, winds variable 20 to 40 knots until 2200 hours, max temperature 94 minimum 73.
