Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 22 April 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA114275; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), Company locations are listed in OPORD 2-69; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

At 0915 hours on 22 Apr 69 1/10 reported hearing small arms fire about 10 rounds (unknown) to their west. They checked with A and B Co and both said they heard same small arms fire but it was to their west 1000 to 1500 meters, At 2003 hours on 22 Apr 69 D Company reports receiving incoming mortars; 81mm, 82mm. There were 16 rounds total. Azimuth from D Company 52 element was 80 degrees, from C Company CP 60 degrees, from 77 element 200 degrees and A Company azimuth at 230 degrees. At 2015 hours 22 Apr 69 incoming mortars have stopped, the total was 16 rounds and the closest one was 100 meters outside the perimeter. They were estimated to be 81mm or 82mm. At 2030 hours on 22 Apr 69 Bde LNO reports Plei ring De was firing mortars. Thanh An had cleared it but have a check fire. At 2109 hours on 22 Apr 69 Recon reports they employed two (2) frags and movement has stopped.

0615 hours (C) A Co has linked up with B Co.

0630 hours (C) D Co has radio contact with 2/35th.

0655 hours (C) A Co has linked up with C Co.

0747 hours (C) A Co 1st platoon has linked up with B Co 1st platoon and they have visual contact of the area.

1356 hours (U) DELAYED ENTRY - On 22 Apr at 1140 hours Bde wanted to know how we were going to employ 2/35 element.
