At0005 hours a light vehicle was reported at grid YA796242. At 0010 hours D Company 94A element reported movement to the northeast of their location, light organics were fired (3 rounds of HE). At 0030 hours 1st and 3rd squads of C Co reported movement to the left of their location at grid YA810235. Negative action was taken. AT 0100 hours there was a message from Bde to Bn: At 0800 hours 29 October 1968 have 1 company on a 15 minute alert an additional company on a 1 hour standby. Be prepared for employment in the southern half of the Bde A/O. B Co is on a 15 minute alert and C Co is on a 1 hour alert. At 1000 hours B Co was alerted to move to the air strip for a C/A at 1504 hours, 1st lift of B Co was in the air, 1st lift touchdown at 1515 hours LZ Green. The location is grid YA958162. The lift was completed at 1607 hours. At 1710 hours we received a message from Bde: A 10,000-LB test bomb will be dropped at grid YA735284, 30 October 1968. No time given. No friendlies are to be within 3,000 meters of the drop zone. Anti-intrusion devices were put in at the following locations: 2322-796224, 2321-797221, 3122-797223 and 3123-797222. All other activities were routine, coordination by the staff.
