Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 25 October 1968. Unit locations: At LZ Joan YA842251, Battalion Headquarters (Forward), B Company 1/35, B Battery 2/9 Artillery, Recon Platoon 1/35 Infantry, 4.2 Mortar platoon 1/35 Infantry, Counter Mortar Section 2/9 artillery; At LZ Jean YA809232 C Company 1/35, D Company 1/35, C Battery 2/9 Artillery, 1 CSF (Camp Strike Force) platoon from the Special Forces Camp at Duc Co; At LZ Vera YA836171, A Company 1/35, At LZ Oasis; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward); At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear), E Company (-). During the 12-hour reporting period no significant action occurred in our area of operations. All units are doubling their security measures and overhead cover in response to intelligence reports of enemy armor threat located near the Cambodian border. All barrier fortification materials and class V (ammunition) has been requested through the supply channel to bring units up to the standards as directed by the Bde Commander Colonel McClellan. Additional weapons such as the 106 Recoilless Rifles and the .50 Caliber machinegun have been requested to the LZ's to strengthen the defensive positions.
