During the 12 hour reporting period several SRP teams from A, C, D and Recon platoon reported noises or movement around their location, light organics and artillery were employed in most cases and the movement stopped. D Company OP spotted 3 NVA at grid 807234. M-79 and hand grenades were employed. OP pulled back to the perimeter and light organics was fired. A sweep around the outside of the perimeter had negative results. During the past several days SRP teams have had movement, this movement occurring mostly during the hours of darkness. Teams have also reported fresh trails most of which has had recent use. Indications are that these sightings and movement are small recon units from across the border to detect friends, firebases and SRP locations. SRP teams have been cautioned to be very alert while in their positions and to make accurate and timely reports.
