Summary: The log was opened at 0001 hours 7 October 1968. Unit locations: LZ Jean C Company 1/35, D Company 1/35 and A Company 1/35; LZ Joan A Company 1/35, B Company 1/35 and B Battery 1/92 Artillery. Mission: The mission of the 1 Battalion 35th Infantry is to provide security for LZ Jean and Duc Co Special Forces Camp. Also to man a total of 18 SRP positions as outlined by Bde. Training units continue to emphasize small unit training, map reading and compass reading and F/O procedures (Forward Observer). ARVN/ROK/Officer Exchange Program. At 1430 hours 2 ROK Officers arrived at LZ Jean. 1LT Lee Yang Yap. 2LT Lee Seung Kyoon. The officers will be with the battalion approximately 2 weeks.
