May 27 to 30, 1967 saw the entire 2/35th Inf, along with B/1-9th Cav, C Troop 3/4th Cav and C/1-35th, involved in the battle of Tan Phong, just a few klicks west of LZ Liz. At its conclusion, 116 enemy lay mortally wounded. Pfc. Michael Dotson, Sgt. William Silva, Capt. Ralph Walker, and Capt. Penn, C/3-4 Cav were lost to us this date.
