Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 17 June 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA117277; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), 1/35th Command Post is at LZ Oasis ZA117277; A Company at ZA083384; B Company at ZA057271; C Company at ZA076406; D Company at ZA982285; Recon platoon is located at ZA115368; 4.2" mortar platoon located at ZA982285; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

0010 hours (C) C Co to TOC: CO said to have a check-fire on the rounds that redlegs are firing, they are hitting close to 33J and 57 element. 33J say they are 300 meters away.

0026 hours (C) A Co has movement around their perimeter. They request Arty to be fired on their OT. Movement was to their north, range 50-100 meters.

0053 hours (C) A Co reconed by fire M-79. They have negative movement at this time, they are waiting for Arty.

0700 hours (C) Bde informs us that we must have a Co on a less that 1-hour standby to reinforce a 1/10 Cav LRP if needed at Y9201.

0725 hours (C) S-3 to C Co: You are on 1 hour alert for reinforcement mission at 9201. Have your sub-element close your PZ's. Inform us when they have closed.

0930 hours (C) From B Co: We have 5 female and 3 male Montagnards at ZA049272. Request interpreter. They are old and we just want to question them, not bring them in. Also the Co found 1 grave approximately 1-year-old 100 meters north on last nights N/L. There were jugs around at the grave which appeared to be Montagnard.

1026 hours (U) DELAYED ENTRY - ON 17 June 69 at 1040 hours from B Co: At same general coordinates as yesterday's bunker findings ZA052274, we found 6 more bunkers 4 x 2 1/2 with 2 feet overhead cover. Items found: 1 BI mess kit, 1 GI coffee cup, 2 GI M-60 ammo boxes, small quantity of rice and tobacco, 1 Montagnard basket, part of GI blanket, 1 Montagnard bowl, 1 pair pants (civilian) and some old rags - VC type.

1100 hours (C) From Thanh An to TOC: Agent report; Evaluation C/2 a Pleiku agent reported on 14 0700 an NVA Co armed with 2 81mm mortars, 1 30 cal machine gun and individual weapons. This unit was located at Chu I/Eh Mountains ZA995220. They dug foxholes around their positions and had 2 LP's by guerilla, their mission is unknown.

1150 hours (C) From B Co: At ZA052274 where bunkers are, they found an anti-personnel mine 9" diameter in stream near bunker location.

1155 hours (C) From A Co to TOC: 33 element at ZA097378 spotted an individual wearing green fatigues and they observed no headgear or weapon but would try to capture the individual. He was moving west.

1245 hours (C) From B Co to TOC: 97 element reconing by fire had their platoon leader receive a small piece of shrapnel in his arm below his elbow. Not serious. We will send him in on the bird.

1400 hours (C) From B Co: Our 97 element at ZA051253 found 5 bunkers inside of a ravine, room for 1 person in each, trails in area, also bunker found earlier today were blown.

1443 hours (C) 97 element found at coordinates ZA047267 20 bunkers, recent use, and 2-weeks old. 4 of them were large enough for 4 men. The remainder for 2 men. Request demolitions to blow bunkers.

1726 hours (C) From B Co: At grid ZA049269, 39 found grave, appears to be 1-month old, will dig it up tomorrow. Found approximately 40 tunnels with signs of recent use in last 2 weeks. Request persistent CS and also demolitions or detel previously ordered. Also found GI C-rations definitely no opened by GI's.

1806 hours (C) B Co Planned Summary: 39 element accepts C-4 and CS, 100lbs of C-4 and neutralizer for tunnels vicinity ZA047268, search draw vicinity ZA046264. Also they are to dig up grave in the tunnel. 97 element will accept 40lbs C-4 and complete destruction of bunkers and tunnels vicinity ZA053272 and search stream vicinity ZA053266. 7 bunkers and 12 tunnels have been already destroyed.
