Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 7 June 1969. 1045 hours (C) From Bde CO to Bn CO - Subject; Security during movement; Part I - recent actions have disclosed that US units have been taking excessive casualties due to inadequate point and flank security for Co and platoon size elements. Part II - Bn Co's are directed to place command emphasis on fundamentals of security for Co, platoon and squad size tactical formations. Part III - Further guidance will be issued by the HQ.

1109 hours (C) A Co reports present location ZA090256 also found aiming stakes at ZA090255. 2 stakes were on a 20-degree azimuth, one was on a 305-degree azimuth. At the head of the logs were bamboo stakes used to hold in place.

1109 hours (C) A Co to TOC: Reports aiming stakes at ZA090255. 2 stakes were on a 20-degree azimuth and at the head of the logs were bamboo strikes used to hold in place. Negative firing has taken place, aiming stakes were in direction of Oasis and Rock Quarry.

1442 hours (C) TOC to D Co: Inform 33A to be ready for pickup in 25 minutes on T-68 push.

1538 hours (C) From D Co to TOC: 1st PZ.

1539 hours (C) From D Co to TOC: Final LZ.

1605 hours (C) From D Co to TOC: On contact made yesterday, did return fire. We have the casings, look like 7.65 rounds from a pistol of some sort, will return to your location.
