Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 31 May 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA117277; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), 1/35th Command Post is at LZ Oasis ZA117277; A Company at ZA069433; B Company at ZA016239; C Company at ZA104371; D Company at ZA982285; Recon platoon is located at ZA090361; 4.2" mortar platoon located at ZA982285; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

1110 hours (C) B Co CP 4th plt present location ZA012241 spot report by the 1st plt: Found newly built village at ZA009231 approximately 30 hooch's, people abandended this morning and took a trail 300 degrees. Searching village now.

1120 hours (C) B Co's 1st plt, 2nd squad is setting up a day B/M at ZA009241 on a trail. 2nd plt apprehended 3 Mountagnard's of military age at ZA010244. They are bringing them to CP now.

1628 hours (C) From Recon to TOC: At Za088357 found 5 bunkers 7 to 10 months old. Have 2 to 3 ft of overhead cover. Each bunker will hold 2 to 3 people, could have been used recently because there are no cobwebs. There is a trail running east and west at this location.

1635 hours (C) From D Co to TOC: 80A at ZA957295 received S/A fire from ZA970293 on edge of the village. Received 2, 10-12 round bursts, in a space of 45 seconds and rounds landed within 15 meters of my element. Moved element out of vicinity of fire. We were not able to fire back because of the village.

1708 hours (C) From D Co to TOC: 80A received about 5 more rounds of S/A fire from the village, sent the 80 (-) (1st plt) to vicinity immediately to possibly block off people who are firing. We are going to move through the village.

1845 hours (C) From B Co to TOC: 1st plt while moving to their N/L came across a clearing and spotted an individual 15 meters to their north on a trail at ZA009249. He was wearing green fatigues but could not determine if he had a weapon. They immediately took him under fire. He fled north up the trail and they reconned the trail by fire and swept the area with negative findings.

1930 hours (C) From S-3 to CO of A Co: You will be extracted to the Oasis airstrip tomorrow for a new mission southwest of the Oasis. You will be given 1 day tomorrow for showers, haircuts, hot food, etc., and will move out by foot tomorrow night. I need a proposed PZ for your Co and the earliest possible time you can be extracted (NLT 0930 hours earlier if possible.

2015 hours (C) From Recon, hears tubes popping azimuth 90 degrees, 1 click.

2015 hours (C) From C Co to TOC: Recon probably hears us. We had movement on the perimeter south between us and the blueline. Fired M-79's, will keep posted.
