Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 4 April 1969. Unit locations: At LZ English 102694; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), A Company at ZA053725; B Company at ZA037717; C Company at ZA017712; D Company at LZ English; E Company at ZA027673; CSF Company at ZA140698; At LZ Oasis; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward): At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

On 4 Apr 69 at 0824 hours D Company found 75 Recoilless Rifle canisters, 20 foxholes, all 1 to 2 weeks old. AT0937 hours on 4 Apr 69 D Company reports a readout at ZA093693 and found 5 new foxholes (1 week old), 15 old foxholes (1 month old), 2 foxholes 10 feet by 2 feet for recoilless purposes and the rest of the foxholes were 3 feet by 2 feet. Also 16-75 RR rounds were expended 1 week ago. 50-75 RR rounds were expended 1 month ago. At 1341 hours on 4 Apr 69 A Company sent in an M-16 Rifle serial number 528336 which was found on LZ Bobbie.

0824 hours (C) D Co found 75 Recoilless Rifle canisters, 20 foxholes and all were 1 2 weeks old.

0910 hours (U) DELAYED ENTRY On 4 Apr 69 at 0857 hours C Co is the first pick up zone.

0905 hours (C) Preparations have been finished.

0907 hours (C) C Co first LZ and the LZ is cold.

0937 hours (C) D Co reports a readout at ZA093693 and found 5 new foxholes (1 week old), 15 foxholes (1 month old), 2 foxholes 10 feet by 2 feet for Recoilless purposes, rest of foxholes were 3 feet by 2 feet, 16-75 RR expended 1 week ago, 50-75 RR expended 1 month ago.

1702 hours (C) B Co reports their 52 element at ZA035714 spotted 2 VC/NVA. They are going to employ artillery and light organics.

1708 hours (C) Reference to item #48: B Co says it turned out to be monkeys.

1900 hours (C) A Co reports that they have no food.

2140 hours (C) To Toc from C Co: We have a fire moving toward our location. We are trying to build a fire lane. But if this doesn't work, we will have to move. S-3 says make sure you have all your people with you if you have to move out and police up all ammo.
