The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, CPL Lawrence Edward Hoffman, who died in the service of his country on March 5th, 1952 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Lawrence was 21 years of age. He was from Modesto, California.

The decorations earned by CPL Lawrence Edward Hoffman include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


BURIAL LOCATION: ACACIA MEMORIAL PARK, MODESTO, CA

Comments: Corporal Hoffman was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in North Korea on March 5, 1952 and died of those wounds later that day. Son of Elmer S. Hoffman and Glenna N. Dershem Hoffman of Michigan. The family later moved to Modesto, California, where he enlisted. Originally from Gratiot County, Michigan.
