The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC William Jennings Skulley, 38071993, who died in the service of his country on February 2nd, 1945 in Luzon. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death William was 31 years of age. He was from Perrytown, Texas.
The decorations earned by PFC William Jennings Skulley include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

Pfc. William J. Skulley was killed in action in the Philippines February 2, according to word received by his parents Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Skulley, Checotah, Okla., on March 6. Pfc. Skulley was in the infantry and had been in the Pacific nearly three years. He was called into service in February 1942.
Pfc. Skulley was born March 7, 1914, at Mt. Juliet, Tenn. He came to Ochiltree county with his parents at the age of ten and lived here until 1937. He attended school at Huntoon and Perryton. He has a twin brother, Jennings Wilson, with the field artillery serving in the Pacific. His two sisters reside in Perryton, Mrs. James H. Miller and Mrs. Roy Bailey. He has two brothers, Aubrey, of Booker, and Randolph, U. S. Army in the European theatre.
When Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Bailey received the message, they left for Checotah to be with their parents. They returned to Perryton Sunday.
