The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Lyle E. Fitch, 37112665, who died in the service of his country on May 15th, 1945 in Luzon, The Philippines. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Lyle was 27 years of age. He was from Algona, Iowa.

The decorations earned by PFC Lyle E. Fitch include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

Lyle was the son of Mrs. Rosa H Hansen of rural Algona.

Lyle was killed in perimeter 200 yards east of Balete Pass.
