The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Leroy Bickers, US51172893, who died in the service of his country on August 1st, 1953 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as DOW. At the time of his death Leroy was 25 years of age. He was from Jersey City, New Jersey. Leroy's Military Occupation Specialty was 1745-Light Weapons Infantry Leader.

The decorations earned by PFC Leroy Bickers include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private First Class Bickers was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was seriously injured while fighting the enemy in North Korea on June 2, 1953 and died of those injuries on August 1, 1953. Private First Class Bickers was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantrymans Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
