The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, CPL Allen Stanley Hewitt, NG27748633, who died in the service of his country on April 30th, 1952 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Allen was 19 years of age. He was from Carrington, North Dakota. Allen's Military Occupation Specialty was 4745-Light Weapons Infantryman.

The decorations earned by CPL Allen Stanley Hewitt include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Corporal Hewitt was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on April 30, 1952. Corporal Hewitt was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantrymans Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Buried in the Carrington Cemetery in Carrington, ND. Buried in section K in the Veterans section on the west side of Section K. Carrington Cemetery is located north of the town of Carrington and west of Rt 281.

Allen S Hewitt had two sisters, Doreen (Husband Delbert Fandrich) and Maryls (Husband William Bauer). Both sisters are deceased. Doreen had three daughters, all living. Maryls had four sons, two of them are still living. Both husbands are still living; Delbert in Colorado and William in North Dakota.

Allen was very attentive to his mother and father as well as being very protective of his sisters. He also did odd jobs around Carrington while in high school.

Allen joined the National Guard at a young age and was called to duty in Korea shortly after high school.
