The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SGT Firman Eugene Pettus Jr, US55159029, who died in the service of his country on July 9th, 1952 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Firman was 21 years of age. He was from Bonne Terre, Missouri. Firman's Military Occupation Specialty was 1745-Light Weapons Infantry Leader.

The decorations earned by SGT Firman Eugene Pettus Jr include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Sergeant Pettus was a member of Company K, 3rd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while on patrol against the enemy in North Korea on July 9, 1952 by enemy mortar fragments. Sergeant Pettus was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
