The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SGT Carl Richard Jones, RA35894622, who died in the service of his country on September 10th, 1951 in Hills 717-682, North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Carl was 26 years of age. He was from Alameda County, California. Carl's Military Occupation Specialty was 3666-Medical Aidman.

The decorations earned by SGT Carl Richard Jones include: the Combat Medical Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Sergeant Jones was a medic with the Medical Company, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while tending his wounded comrades in North Korea on September 10, 1951. Sergeant Jones was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Medical Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.

Son of Moses Harding Jones and Mattie Ophelia Ricketts Jones of Oakland, California, originally lived in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Carl was an African-American.
