The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SGT Forest Walter Blackford, US52003332, who died in the service of his country on March 14th, 1952 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Forest was 25 years of age. He was from Anna, Ohio. Forest's Military Occupation Specialty was 1745-Light Weapons Infantry Leader.

The decorations earned by SGT Forest Walter Blackford include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Sergeant Blackford was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on March 14, 1952. Sergeant Blackford was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Blackford of Anna, Ohio. Brother of Lloyd Blackford and Loveda Blackford. He worked at Lime Fork Depot before Korea.
