The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PV2 Ivan Milford Steenbergh, RA16355451, who died in the service of his country on March 11th, 1952 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Ivan was 23 years of age. He was from East Jordan, Michigan. Ivan's Military Occupation Specialty was 4745-Light Weapons Infantryman.

PFC Ivan Milford Steenbergh,23, son of Mr and Mrs (Nora May) Omar F Steenbergh of East Jordan, was killed in Korea March 11 by enemy artillery fire, according to word received by his parents from the Department of Defense. PFC Stennbergh, who enlisted last Spring, arrived in Korea early last year. He attended school in East Jordan and in Detroit.

Ivan and three other Item Company soldiers were killed when their bunker was hit by a North Korean 76mm artillery shell.
