The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PV2 Miguel A. Perez y Loubriel, US50113115, who died in the service of his country on August 8th, 1952 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Miguel was 23 years of age. He was from Toa Alta, Puerto Rico. Miguel's Military Occupation Specialty was 4745-Light Weapons Infantryman.

The decorations earned by PV2 Miguel A. Perez y Loubriel include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Private Perez was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on August 8, 1952. Private Perez was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantrymans Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

I was born less than a couple of months before his tragic death. My family, the Davila, has always lovely and warmly remembered him. His father, Rufo, was my barber when I was a kid in Toa Alta. Miguel Angel was Assistant Electrician and worked with my father, Ovidio Davila Sr., who was at the time Electrician in Charge of the Puerto Rico Electric Energy Authority in the town of Toa Alta. I knew about him through all the good memories and heartily felt sorrows about him expressed over the years by my relatives. He was called "Uncle Miguel" by my elder cousins. I will never forget the good remembrances about him.
