The cause of death was listed as Seriously WIA by missile-Died of wounds (FECOM). At the time of his death Jerome was 17 years of age. He was from Weyauwega, Wisconsin. Jerome's Military Occupation Specialty was 1812-Heavy Weapons Infantry Leader.

He was my half-brother. My mother was his mother. He lost his father when he was 2. His mother married my father in 1936. My mother was not aware that he was in Korea until we were notified by telegram. He was 17 at the time of his death. I was ten years old. (Frank Haffner)
