The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PV2 James Allen Mc Cool, US53013630, who died in the service of his country on May 25th, 1951 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death James was 23 years of age. He was from McComb, Mississippi. James' Military Occupation Specialty was 4745-Light Weapons Infantryman.

The decorations earned by PV2 James Allen Mc Cool include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


James entered the service 25 September 1950.

On the day that James McCool was killed in action another soldier by the name of James Crotty and my self tried to get McCool to a safe area when he was wounded.

But unfortunately he died while we were carrying him. Thank you for taking the time to read this. It may soothe the family a little.
