The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Hershel Fay Ford, RA18332218, who died in the service of his country on September 1st, 1950 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Hershel was 20 years of age. He was from Russellville, Arkansas. Hershel's Military Occupation Specialty was 4745-Light Weapons Infantryman.

The decorations earned by PFC Hershel Fay Ford include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Hershel entered the service 11 August 1948.

Originally from Arkansas. From Hazel Renton: My brother that was KIA when I was one week old. I wish I had known him. My name is Hazel Renton and I live in Oklahoma City. His baby brother was James Yarber who also joined the Army and after 19 years of service was killed in Beirut while serving as a peacekeeper.
