The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Lacy Dowling, RA53002013, who died in the service of his country on October 8th, 1950 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Lacy was 27 years of age. He was from Blackshear, Georgia. Lacy's Military Occupation Specialty was 4745-Light Weapons Infantryman.

The decorations earned by PFC Lacy Dowling include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star with V, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.



I was stationed with Lacy in Otsu Japan during 1949 and 1950 until we went to Korea.Lacy was another good friend that I lost contact with after I was wounded. Lacy(Georgia Boy) Dowling was fun to be around,I'm sorry to hear he was not one of the lucky ones.I have some pictures of Lacy if his family would like to contact me. (Floyd Sharp)
