The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Guy Alvin Ballard, US53134663, who died in the service of his country on July 1st, 1953 in Outpost Marilyn, North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Guy was 22 years of age. He was from Lowesville, North Carolina. Guy's Military Occupation Specialty was 1745-Light Weapons Infantry Leader.

The decorations earned by PFC Guy Alvin Ballard include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private First Class Ballard was a member of Company E, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on July 1, 1953. Private First Class Ballard was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.

Husband of Betty Jane Stroupe. He was killed one month after the birth of his only child whom he never got to see
Guy is buried in the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery, Lowesville, NC
