The cause of death was listed as Seriously WIA by missile-Died of wounds (FECOM). At the time of his death William was 31 years of age. He was from Pitman, New Jersey. William's Military Occupation Specialty was 1542.

Captain William Graves, who was born and raised in Glassboro, served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Graves served with the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, in Korea. Prior to his service in Korea, Graves served as a Lieutenant in the U.S Army Air Corps in World War II. His bomber was shot down
over Italy on Feb 24,1944, and he was listed as missing in action until it was discovered he was in a Prisoner of war camp.
He left behind his wife, Libby.
