The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, CPL Clifford O. Emmons, RA14300525, who died in the service of his country on August 7th, 1950 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as Seriously WIA by missile-Died of wounds (FECOM). At the time of his death Clifford was 19 years of age. He was from Butler, Alabama. Clifford's Military Occupation Specialty was 4812-Heavy Weapons Infantryman.
The decorations earned by CPL Clifford O. Emmons include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Corporal Emmons was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on August 7, 1950 and died of those wounds the following day. Clifford entered the service 14 October 1948.
I was stationed in Otsu Japan in 1949 and 1950 with Clifford,we were good friends and I have several pictures of him and other friends taken in Japan. I was not aware of his death until I saw it on this page.Cliff was a good guy to be around. I lost a lot of good friends during the early days of the war when we were greatly undermanned. We were all young kids,but I saw them become MEN very fast.During this period Lt.Ralph Queen was plt. Ldr. Sgt.Webber was Plt.Sgt. Sgt.Frank Craig was Section Ldr. and I was squad ldr. (Floyd Sharp)
