The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, 2LT Gregory Franz Erlach, O-0983559, who died in the service of his country on August 17th, 1951 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Gregory was 24 years of age. He was from San Bernardino, California. Gregory's Military Occupation Specialty was 1542.

The decorations earned by 2LT Gregory Franz Erlach include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Second Lieutenant Erlach was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on August 17, 1951. Second Lieutenant Erlach was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantrymans Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

He was originally from Vienna, Austria. Emigrated to the United States with his mother Helene Erlach and sister Monika Erlach in 1938. Jewish heritage. Wife was Sarah G Erlach
