The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, Tech5 Friedrich Hermann Promann, who died in the service of his country on February 8th, 1945 in Luzon. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Friedrich was 39 years of age. He was from Weehawken, New Jersey.

The decorations earned by Tech5 Friedrich Hermann Promann include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

Friedrich was awarded the Silver Star for rescuing wounded from the "muddy ditch" during the battle of Lupao. He was killed during his fourth trip to the ditch.

Friedrich was born in Bremen, Germany and worked at Ferguson Brothers Manufacturing prior to induction.
