The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, 2LT William Landis Cochran, O-1688778, who died in the service of his country on April 4th, 1951 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death William was 24 years of age. He was from Livingston, Texas. William's Military Occupation Specialty was 1126-Artillery Forward Observer.

The decorations earned by 2LT William Landis Cochran include: the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Second Lieutenant Cochran was a member of the 64th Field Artillery Battalion, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on April 4, 1951. Second Lieutenant Cochran was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Lt. Cochran was killed with Love Company while serving as an FO for the 64th Field Artillery during Hill 297 fight.
