The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, CPL Jack Clifford Zuver, RA32731405, who died in the service of his country on November 28th, 1950 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as MIA to KIA. At the time of his death Jack was 27 years of age. He was from Olean, New York. Jack's Military Occupation Specialty was 4745-Light Weapons Infantryman.

The decorations earned by CPL Jack Clifford Zuver include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Sergeant Zuver was a decorated veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Company K, 3rd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. On November 28, 1950, he was defending a hill near Parwon Myon, North Korea when his position was overrun. As his unit withdrew, he was mortally wounded in the chest from a mortar shell. His remains were not recovered. Sergeant Zuver was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
