The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Patrick Joseph Hamilton, 37473469, who died in the service of his country on April 8th, 1945 in Luzon. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Patrick was 25 years of age. He was from Newcastle, Nebraska.
The decorations earned by PFC Patrick Joseph Hamilton include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.
Patrick is buried in Omaha, Nebraska.
Before the War, Pat was a farmer with his father. They broke and trained wild horses that they got from the Sioux. As a farmer, Pat had a draft deferment. But in February 1943 he volunteered anyway for the infantry. Pat was a gentle soul.(Contributed by the family)
