The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, CPL John Joseph Manning, who died in the service of his country on June 28th, 1953 in Towhan-Dung, North Korea. The cause of death was listed as Explosives Accident. At the time of his death John was 20 years of age. He was from Bellview County, New Jersey.

Corporal Manning was a member of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. On June 28, 1953 near Towhan-Dong, North Korea, he was checking a charge of dynamite when a detonating cap accidentally exploded. Corporal Manning was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
