The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Charles Haldon Keating, who died in the service of his country on February 26th, 1952 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as Grenade Accident. At the time of his death Charles was 23 years of age. He was from Fostoria, Ohio.

The decorations earned by PFC Charles Haldon Keating include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private First Class Keating was a member of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. On February 26, 1952, near Sanjon, North Korea, he accidentally dropped a hand grenade which exploded killing him. Private First Class Keating was awarded the Combat Infantrymans Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
