The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, CPL Frank L. Whitworth, who died in the service of his country on September 13th, 1918 in Nogales, AZ. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Frank was 20 years of age. He was from Switchback, West Virginia.

The decorations earned by CPL Frank L. Whitworth include: the Purple Heart, the Mexican Service Medal.


Son of Edward B. and Lucy Fannie Whitworth, born in Switchback, WV. Enlisted in Army in Ohio, Columbus Barracks, on 7 Sept 1916. Private in Co G 35 Infantry. Wounded in action severely 27 Aug 1918. Died of septicemia following gunshot wound 13 Sep 1918.
