The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Ralph Edward Moore, who died in the service of his country on May 3rd, 1967 in Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Booby Trap. At the time of his death Ralph was 20 years of age. He was from Indianapolis, Indiana. Ralph is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Panel 19E, Line 29.

The decorations earned by PFC Ralph Edward Moore include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.


On May 3, 1967, Ralph was serving as the pointman on a fire team on a search and destroy mission in Quang Ngai Province, South Vietnam. As he crossed a hedgerow, members of his unit were knocked down by the blast of what was believed to be an exploding mine.

When the unit organized a search for Moore, he was not located. His wallet and helmet liner were found some distance from the site but nothing else was found associated with him.
