The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SSG Charles Peter Stolp, 37277414, who died in the service of his country on March 8th, 1945 in Luzon. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Charles was 24 years of age. He was from Kidder County, North Dakota.

The decorations earned by SSG Charles Peter Stolp include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Distinguished Service Cross, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

(Citation Needed) - SYNOPSIS: Staff Sergeant Charles P. Stolp (ASN: 37277414), United States Army, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with Company B, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, in action against enemy forces on 8 March 1945. Staff Sergeant Stolps intrepid actions, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty at the cost of his life, exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, the 25th Infantry Division, and the United States Army.
