The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Donald Eugene Hamilton, who died in the service of his country on May 14th, 1951 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as Grenade Accident. At the time of his death Donald was 24 years of age. He was from Athens, Illinois.

Private Hamilton was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. On May 14, 1951, while moving into his combat position, a hand grenade in his carrier pouch accidentally exploded. He was taken to the battalion aid station at Song-ni, South Korea where he died. Private Hamilton was awarded the Combat Infantrymans Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
