The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SSG Stanley B. Wojcik, who died in the service of his country on February 2nd, 1945 in Lupao, P.I.. The cause of death was listed as Mortars. At the time of his death Stanley was 24 years of age. He was from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The decorations earned by SSG Stanley B. Wojcik include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


Telegrams have been received from the War Department to Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wojcik of Spencer, notifying them of the death of their son, S-Sgt. Stanley B. Wojcik, age 24, on Feb. 2, 1945 on Luzon in the Philippines and of the wounding of another son, Cpl. P. Wojcik, 21, in Belgium. Sgt. Wojcik of the Army Infantry, had been in service since 1939. He enlisted and was stationed for a time in Colorado, and in May 1940, went to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He then went to the South Pacific and a year later to New Zealand. On Jan. 15, 1945, he was sent to the Philippine Islands where he was killed in action. He had received the Good Conduct medal about a year ago and also the Bronze Star. He was born in July 1920. Surviving besides his parents are seven brothers, John of Ogema; Adam and Frank of Milwaukee; Cpl. Peter P. Wojcik, hospitalized in France, and Leo, Theodore and Joseph, at home; three sisters, Mrs. John (Josephine) Iwanski of Port Edwards; Mrs. LeRoy (Leocadia) Kreckloff of Ogema and Miss Anna Wojcik of Milwaukee.
