The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Roger Lee Barber, who died in the service of his country on June 13th, 1967 in Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Mine. At the time of his death Roger was 23 years of age. He was from Sun Valley, California. Roger is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Panel 21E, Line 96.
The decorations earned by PFC Roger Lee Barber include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star with V, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.
Roger was killed by a mine 12 KM southeast of Duc Pho. He lived for two hours after wounding and died at the 2nd Surg. at Chu Lai. He was a member of the 1st Platoon
His official records show a Bronze Star with V.
Buried in the Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn Memorial Park/ 6300 Forest Lawn Dr./Los Angeles.
