The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, CPL William Doyle Cowan, RA19294989, who died in the service of his country on November 25th, 1950 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death William was 24 years of age. He was from Butte County, California. William's Military Occupation Specialty was 60c-Cook.

Corporal Cowan was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 25, 1950. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. Corporal Cowan was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantrymans Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. He was known as "Billy".
