The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC William Archie Jones Jr., who died in the service of his country on January 21st, 1967 in Binh Dinh Province, Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Small Arms/AW. At the time of his death William was 20 years of age. He was from Colorado Springs, Colorado. William is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Panel 14E, Line 63.
The decorations earned by PFC William Archie Jones Jr. include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.

Funeral services for William A. (Bill) Jones, Jr. 20, 922 Bennett Ave., who was killed Jan. 21 in action in Viet Nam, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Swan Drawing Room. The Rev D.L. Bennett will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Jones, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, was born Feb 19, 1946. He graduated from Wasson High School in 1964 and was employed by Daniels Motors before entering the Army in March of last year.
He went into combat in Viet Nam in September 1966.
Survivors include his parents Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Jones of Colorado Springs; two brothers, Charles W. Jones of Colorado Springs and James E. Jones of Idaho Springs; a sister, Mrs. Myra Green of Colorado Springs; Grandmother, Mrs. L.E. Winters of Colorado Springs and four nieces and nephews.
