The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Aaron Washington Cochran, who died in the service of his country on August 7th, 1966 in Pleiku Province, Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Small Arms/AW. At the time of his death Aaron was 18 years of age. He was from Birmingham, Alabama. Aaron is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Panel 09E, Line 108.

The decorations earned by PFC Aaron Washington Cochran include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.

Pfc. Aaron W. (Sonny Crockett) Cochran, 18, died in Viet Nam August 7.
Full military funeral was held today at Johns-Ridouts with burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
Pfc Cochran lived most of his life in Birmingham. He attended Talladega High School before joining the army in September 1964.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather Mr. and Mrs. K.W. Crockett of Birmingham; his father, Walter Cochran; four sisters, Kay Cochran, Martha Cochran, Mrs. George Mackey, and Mrs. Patricia Trull, and a brother, Kelvin Crockett, all of Birmingham.
